Clans are another name for teams. Most clans are recognized by the first part of their on screen ID like for instance K-O-D_ , USMC_, xxSAxx, A1C_, ATL_, and so on..... They get together and battle other clans for ranking or just for fun. ps3leaderboard.com has a list of most registered clans.
