What you don't understand is that the fact I became a Liverpool supporter based on there performance in an international game is one of the best ways to become one. Face it, no one ever watches a single Premiership match and says 'I love this club for the rest of my life'. 95% of the time it's because they won a trophy one year, and even if they did or did not win it again, they still continue to support them.

But my liking came to the club from a very neutral point of view. I saw the way they played together. Liverpool had everything to do with that game. You don't realize it, but it's almost fair to say that Liverpool beat the German national team. That is what made me love the club. The fact they know how to play with each other despite their circumstances. How is that not a great way to start your love for a club.
