NFSC vs RR7 vs Full Auto2 vs GT HD !
I have all four games and they are all as different as car/racing games can be!:o
I believe all tastes are catered for in terms of gameplay but, of course, to finish off the collection would require one F1 game and one rally game.
As for these games, my personal actual preference is:
RR7
NFSC
FA2
GT HD
Now, that may or may not surprise you, so I will give you reasons...
RR7 is almost as dynamically realistic as GT HD but doesnt suffer from GT's over-realism. It also still feels super Arcade like and slick andthe graphics are good enough to make it a visual treat. It offers the best 'feeling' out of the lot and you can sense better what the car is doing despite having no vibro.
NFSC is a bit more detailed, the screens to choose car and later modding them is more complicated. Its got an actual storyline but it can get in the way of just wanting to have some racing action. I do like the battle for territoty thing but it depends on what mood I am in and its too easy to just slide the RR7 disk in instead and guarantee I will have some simple, to the core, racing action. The graphics are just okay.
Full Auto 2 puts the emphasis on fun. The racing dynamics are pretty awful and it may even be based on a PS One engine. The graphics are pretty bad, nothing like a PS3 is capable of pushing out.
Still, it is fun, alot of fun. You whack down the accelerator and try and shoot the other cars with a various assortment of gunnery.
It just snt as slick as NFSC and falls well short of RR7 as an actual racer though, to be fair, this is not is Raison D'Etre.
GT HD looks absolutley stunning in parts and normal in others. It has real world car and the detailing on car dynamics such as driving, stopping and turning are quite remarkable.
BUT and yes thats a big but, it seems a little too realistic, a little too much hard work to get the car to do your bidding. I found putting in fast laps very difficult and drifting a car at speed takes a LOT of practice.
If you are in the mood to just race a few good cars around a track then GT HD is not for you. Of course, to be fair to it as well, it is only the downloaded FREE version that we are playing and, of course, it offers little in the way of reasons to want to play to repeatedly. When we have other cars, more tracks and online/offline opponent cars then it will have to be re-evaluated. Until then, I cannot bring myself to play it, it just frutrates me.:(
There you go.... Motorstorm might find a place in this list soon..:)
