Well, I haven't played it online in a while so sorry if I miss a few features. But, from what I do remember is that, the online is very basic. You search for an opponent, and play him a game of basketball. There is a ranking system, and you are able to play other gamers within your ranking zone (although this may not work all the time if there's minimal amount of people playing online). And of course you can play multiplayer offline.
