PS3Arena Staff Positions

As many of you know, we have been working hard developing the brand new site PS3Arena which should launch in late May. As we get closer and closer to the release of PS3Arena Beta, we are now going to be hunting for anyone who would like to help out with the site. Our goal is to compete and surpass the other ladder/tournament sites.


Of course running a big site like this will need a lot of help, which is where you all come in. I will be taking the load of work on the arena site and will be the Administrator. Adrian will still be around overlooking everything but I will be taking all of the work that goes into running this site. We are looking to fill in positions in both Referees and Game Chief’s for every game that we will be running ladders and tournaments for. Here’s a description of each job:



· Referees: These are the members that will be going through any tickets that are sent in and will have to deal with problems other members have. We are looking for about 12 ref’s total depending on the amount of work that’s going to be involved. These Referees need to work together and be very professional when dealing with regular members, as they set an example for them.



· Game Chief: This position is for one person only for each game and will have power over the Ref’s. This person needs to be very trustworthy and show great leadership. They will have the final say in any decisions that haven’t come to a conclusion. Communication is a key, and these people must be in contact with the Ref’s every so often to check in and make sure everything is running smoothly.




What are we really looking for in members to fill these roles? Here’s a list of criteria that I will go through when determining who will be picked for each position. Many of the things I base people on are pretty self explanatory, so I won’t go through them in great detail.

· Present yourself in a Professional Manner
· Active member of the site
· Very Mature, knowledge of how to act in certain situations
· Must be able to write with correct grammar
· Computer Savvy

Also please do not waste my time if you’re not 100% committed to this because you would just be taking up a spot I could fill with someone who is.

I will be keeping everyone updated when we come out with new jobs that you can apply for. As we keep adding more to Arena we will need more help, which is where all you members come into play. I know a lot of you have already sent me PM's about what job you will be interested in and that's great. If we come out with a new job that would better fit you, don't hesitate to send me a PM and I will switch you over to a new job. These are the job's we currently have:

Game Referee's: Members that are willing to go through tickets sent in, and listen to both sides of an argument. Also if a battle need's to be hosted by a Ref, that will be your job.

Game Chief: One person per game will make sure the ladder is running smoothly. You will have power over the other Referees and anything they need help with, you will need to take care of it. You will also have the final say in all decisions.

Tournament Directors: At the end of every season we have with a ladder, we will be running a Tournament to find out which clan is #1. Your job will be to make sure all the games are played fairly and they are played in a timely manor. Tournaments shouldn't last any longer than a week, so you need to be in close contact with all the teams to make sure they get the games played.

I will only be accepting applications for a week or two, depending on how many more I receive in that span of time. So far I have received about 15 applications, so make sure you get yours into me as soon as you can. This is a great opportunity for a lot of you to become part of something great so don't pass it up. Once I have all the applications I'm going to accept, I will go through and pick the right candidates for the positions. Hopefully I will have a job for everyone, it will all depend on how many more applicants I have. Once I go through them and choose, I will have a couple meetings with the different groups so we can go over exactly what you will be doing and what I will expect from you. Still about a couple months away from the launch, but I'm going to try and be as organized as possible.

First off I would like to thank everyone that has applied so far for jobs on PS3 Arena. I have received hundreds of applications by members who seem very interested in helping PS3 Arena be a huge success, which I really appreciate. It's getting about to that point where I will now need to sit down and read through them all again and start making some decisions. Each one of you have a pretty good chance in getting a job because there's so many different jobs I need to fill, I will need a lot of members on board.

I will leave the application process open for the rest of this weekend, so any of you that still wish to apply that haven't already, make sure you get your application in as quick as possible. Also keep in mind that Arena will be including all types of games that the PS3 has to offer, not just games like cod4 and Rainbow. If your interested in working with a game that hasn't been too popular on this site, please feel free to send your application in for them because we will need members running those games as well.
