COD3 SERVER DOWN?

playing this mornin and jump outta a game to anwser some messages and YEAHY i magically cannot get back on the COD3 server but yet PSN works seeing as i can message and go into chats! so it roles around time SONY buiness hours start so i decided to call them. The response i get BOTH of the 2 times i called......"This issue needs to be take up with Activision, and they are closed until monday.........they did not tell us of any shutdown dealing with COD3 server and are not open on saturday and sunday....going off of that my best bet would be to say it is a problem with the server somewhere and they will do their best to restore service when they open on monday" Both representatives were very nice and all, but when i tried to poke questions such as "Did Activision notify SONY of any server shutdowns?" BOTH reps seemed kind of scidish to say "no" like the were possibly tryin to hide something or possible they really had no idea what i was talking about.
MY FINAL THOUGHTS.....don't plan on COD3 server being up before monday and if even monday depending on the problem.....NO MONTLY MAYHEM ON SUNDAY i guess dat will have to be post-poned?

I LAUGH AT YOU ALL!! all of you guys out there that keep talkin bout updates i hope ur right but i wouldn't count on it.....p.s. i really don't know if 24 jackasses in a room talkin on a mic is a good thing just go get sum compter mic support if its for your clan! as for mic support i have heard several people say WITH NO CREDITABLE SOURCE that the server will be down for 14 hours for mic update but I HIGHLY DOUBT THAT IS WHAT IS HAPPENING

Alright since everyones like i got a number for treyarch. Well u have to talk to Activision and they have a site where u can submit questions for support and a corporate number which gives u direct number to the support line however it is not open till 9am Monday. U can however submit a complaint or question too...

i forgot to add that in the post i ALREADY sent them a question on that site this mornin and it told me it would be anwsered in 24 hours even though they closed sat and sun so if it is activision we screwed till they come in on monday and would lead me to believe this was an accidental sever crash... i also searched the automated line for activison on the phone with no luck on any news....my guess still be back after they start fixin monday but just an EDUCATED GUESS!... o yeah i don't know what to believe cuz so many people say diffently that servers are activision and servers are treyarch but on activision site it sayz treyarch produced the game and sony rep told me on phone to talk to activision so i think you are right slick the only thing we can do is piss em off by submittin thousands of questions to the database about why it is down so they fix it as fast as possible

Thank you for contacting Activision’s Technical Support. I'm sorry to hear that you are experiencing problems with one of our games. Are you not able to connect to the lobby or not able to connect to games? Games are hosted by other players, there are no large servers like the PC Call of Duty games. The lobby though, is not run at Activision so I'm looking into the status. Hopefully if it is down, it will be restarted soon. Communication over the weekend is always a bit slower.

the most likely reason is..................because of the UK launch....the flood of that many players coming onto the cod srver caused it to crash plain and simple.....im sure it will be up and running somtime within the next week

i read somewherez that the us and uk had 2 diff ps3 discs and would be runin on seperate servers but then moneyman told me same thing u did so i again don't know what is the rumur and what is the truth but for now i go off what i read not what i hear so i would say this is not the reason for slow down but agian i really couldn't tell ya i just hope this post lets sum people, who don't know n e thing about what is goin on with this, feel a little better about the situation

This is wack, U.K. Has completely different Game and server. The Canadian version is compatable cause both in North America. I heard that Austrailia and New Zealand are getting their hands on the canadian version. Anyway I feel like a Junkie needn a fix, "where is my F'n COD3" instead of crack. LOLOL. OH Bored

I just recieved an e-mail from Activision stating that the Authentication server was down, they gave two reasons for why. #1Scheduled Downtime for updates. #2Temporary Server problem I.E. Down server. So either way we continue to watch grass grow.

Wherever you heard about diff disc's is not true......Call of duty 3 server is global as where Rfom has regional servers thats why they cant play with the Japanese or UK players..so when about 200,000 to 500,000 more players are on the cod 3 servers it couldn't handle that rush of info and crashed...but i would be happily surprised to have mics ;)
