I posted this in the COD4 forums as well. Sorry for double posting but wanted to get it out there.
This is a VERY DIFFICULT thread for me to type, please bare with me. Last week I posted a thread in here concerning our leader TU_Snake_Doctor a.k.a. Boondoggie and asked for you to pray for him. In that thread it was mentioned that he was in the hospital undergoing tests for possible cancer in his liver and pancreas. Last night him and his family returned to the hospital to get the results. It's VERY unfortunate to say that he has been diagnosed with cancer in both areas. The doctors informed him that with chemotherapy he would have 6-8 months to live, without chemotherapy he would only have 3 months.
Not much that I could say on here that could even come close to my sentiments and reactions to this news. Of course he has many options through medicine and doctors, on which I pray can be done.
Boondoggie is a great friend and someone who I would sit on the back porch with to drink some beers and discuss life outside of the PS3. He is a man who is loved not only by us but his wife and 3 very small boys. Being diagnosed with something like this at his age is not only shocking to me but his whole family.
Gaming for me on COD4 and any other games have been put in a different light. I've always said to my fellow clan members that TU is a family and we'll always treat it as such. Boondoggie has been the catalyis in making this happen. The Unit is Boondoggie, in which we have just followed his lead. TU has never been about being "the best" or smack talking about others teams on these forums. Everything that you see or hear about TU is his doing. So, starting today on COD4, The Unit members will wear the tags of BOON in front of their names. Please respect our decision when and if we're in a team battle with you.
I did not mean to make this post as long as this. I guess the more that I think about his situation, only brings to light how great a friend that he's been to me. He has not given up nor should I for him.
I could only ask of you to pray for him and his family as they walk down this difficult road. If you have an opportunity, please drop him a line on his PS3. It'll only take two minutes of your time. Those two minutes would be a inspiration to him.
Get well Boondoggie, my teammate, and my friend. I'll still be flying from Japan to see you my friend.

I do not know of you or boondoggie, however i am touched by your words for your dear friend. It comes to me of great sorrow to hear this about a great person. You sound a great and close friend of boondoggie and my repects are with him. May he have great fun and stays very happy throughout these hard times. Your words come to me as a great loss and i respect what you are doing. Boondoggie i hope you get well and enjoy yourself.
i have played agianst you under various profile names i have had. TU_SnakeNdaGrass i am touched and will support anyone who has and illness like that. Im sure everyone will agree to give you, your friend and clan members support during your time of need.
Thoughts with you, and at the final time we will stand together and all bow to a fallen soldier, may we give him a 21 gun salute !

Wow, Malachi I couldn't have done any better than this post. I have grown to love Boon like a brother. I lost my younger brother earlier this year and DO NOT want to lose another. I again as Malachi has stated, BEG and PLEAD with each and every one of you to PRAY for Boon's recovery and healing. If you do not know Boon, I think you should make an attempt to. It's hard to explain how and internet relationship has blossomed into a very real friendship. I have the utmost respect for Boon and all my clan members. We are a FAMILY and one of our own needs desperate help. I am doing as much as I can to aid him, and all we ask is those who are a member of the human race on the ps3 community, open your hearts and minds and pray to Almighty God that he be healed.

Last night when I heard the news, I didn't know what to say or think. Hearing somthing like this about one of the guy's on here i know the best really upsets me but i know boon will not give up. Look at how many people have fought through cancer, Boon i KNOW 6-8 months is not your limit. Your not going to let this cancer beat you, you can overcome this. Everyone on this site should have respect to have you in their prayers because your one of the most respected and loved guys on here. So don't have that 6-8 month time frame in your head boon, your going to beat it.
* Also I am going to ask everyone in the Johnny's to wear the tag BOON in respect to him as well. Get well buddy.

wow, man thats horrible, my thoughts go out to his family and freinds its horrible how something like this can happen i never new him but i could tell from threads he wrote that he is a great guy, from now one everygame of COD4 i will think about him and play for him i am struggling for words at the moment, i will be praying for you mate god bless you were all here for you

This is terrible news, i've talked to boon(great heart-warming person) and he's in my clan. With Boondoggie TU wouldnt really be what it is because he is such a big part of it. Boon i know you're strong and you can out beat this cancer. My prayers will go out to you and your family. I will wear BOON in front of my TU name and i hope we can do something else to support him in his time of need.
i give all my prayers to boon man this is hard i kno...i had an uncle that had the same crap its hard to kno that in a couple of month u could die..its hard trust me.. GooD LucK BooN and GooD LucK TU...
That sucks man, cancer runs in my family so I know how it feels to lose people to this devilish disease. All I can say to Boon is: Have faith, pray to God to use you for your purpose, and spend as much time with your loved ones as you can. Do not let your cancer control you, it is beatable and can be stopped. Have faith man, have faith.

Just a quick update. Obviously he hasn't been on alot lately due to meds and treatments. He'll begin his chemo on Wednesday, 12 Dec. Please continue to pray for him. Thanks for the support all!
