Gaming Consoles…Are They Really Worth It

World is going gaga over gaming consoles such as Sony Playstations and Microsoft’s X-box, but if you see beyond the smokescreen created by marketing blitz, you will understand that if you have a good PC (personal computer), you really don’t need these expensive consoles. Not convinced? Just read on…

• Difficult updation: If some of the components inside the box become dated, the whole console need to be replaced to keep playing newer games. No remedies for that. This way you need to invest quite a hefty amount with each turn in technology. No such problems with PCs.

• Lack of versatility: Computers can do whole lot of things besides supporting online games. On the other hand consoles perform only one task really well. Some console manufacturers may try to make them a little more flexible, but it's unlikely they will ever support the range of applications that is available for PCs.

• Lack of inter-connectivity: It is the biggest grouse against gaming consoles. There is a clear lack of inter-connectivity between the different console brands because of commercial compulsions.
When it comes to online gaming, such as playing tetris, super Mario, ping pong and other flash based games or multiplayer strategy games for free, players can pit against each other only on a specific network of people playing on same types of consoles.

There is no way for console gamers to jump into a fray on one of the countless servers available. The PS2 has made some progress in this area, forging the way for cross-platform gaming between PS2 and PC users, but only one or two titles support this right now.

Thanks to various sites that offer free online flash games ,free online flash games, multiplayer games .People who wouldn’t like to spend some extra money on gaming consoles can still enjoy playing the hugely popular games such as tetris, super Mario, ping pong, etc. If you ask me, I would say despite all the razzmatazz associated with gaming consoles, they can still never compete with PCs.

Um. Ps3 comes really close to having a personal comp.

Really close. I can download porn right off the internet. MP3's, pics, videos. The only thing it doesn't support is shit like notepad and all that gay shit. Not too mention, in order to have a PC that is capable of running newer online games successfully and fluidly, you have to spend at least 1500 - 2000 dollars on random gadgets for it. Whereas my PS3 plays in high def with all the extra features for a little under $600.

And i'm sorry there nooby, I think we all of us on this site are little past tetris and games similar too.

The only time I play tetris is on my gameboy 1 while I'm taking a shit.

Linda's just a douche-nozzle advertising Tetris and other flash based games for another site.

I'm glad my Ps3 doesn't ask me to download the latest flash player.

I think that if you would have a basic search online ....you would find some material on that……may be a guide or a e-book……but in my opinion the best way to master a game is to play it on an on and the experience you have against your competitors will be the ultimate resource of learning. You can always play the game online and learn from that. There is dominoes game which is a good online portal for dominoes players to make them more advanced with games against different players around the globe.

Re: Gaming Consoles…Are They Really Worth It

All i can say is...

Look At graphics on a pc on some some people cod4 montages..

Then look on a HD TV with a ps3 or xbox...

Also IDC if u say if u have the best graphics card...

Why buy a graphics which is like £1000 when u can buy a ps3 or xbox thats £300 which also comes with the rest of the stuff....

So, unless you use for PC for work ... which we arent as were gamers...

Gamers Consoles 1 - 0 PC Gamers...
