PS3 games online tournaments and events with regular competitions and Leaderboards

Japanese PlayStation website, the PlayStation store revamp will occur on April 15th 2008, which is a Tuesday. Firmware 2.30 will be released allowing access to the new store. The firmware update will be released in the Evening (Japanese time). There has been no announcement of when the new store will be available in North America or Europe other than in mid-April. It is likely that the new firmware will be available in Europe and US on Tuesday too.

Rough Japanese Translation:

Sony PlayStation 3 online service will be renewed on April 15th, 2008 (Tuesday) evening. This will renew and expand the store by adding functionality described below:

New interface and navigation improvements
Preview video content using still images
New download categories added
After the update, PS3 System Software 2.30 will be available.

To promote the new store, SCEJ will be offering a "PS treasure hunt" running from April 15th to May 12 2008. This will allow every 50th user to the store to download a "hidden" application or game, most likely for free. Maybe this is the suprise SCEE/SCEA mentioned upon release of the new store.

haha lol. **** no man. dont count on that coming till fall. apparently the ps3 having in game XMB would not be so good atm.

lol. maybe. im not too sure from what i have heard. but it might it might not. still not such a good idea in sony's eyes.

Definitely not home. i hear/read the closed beta just finished ,so the open must be going live soon. like in the middle of june or something.

Firstly. I dont think there will be a demo. I mean look how long left till the release date.

Secondly, There will be downloadable content for the 360 version. And of course for the PS3.

There was some info on my bloggs but, I am afraid it has been deleted. But their will be downloadble content for the PSN.

All i can remember is that the 360 version, gets like some 3 extra missions to add on to the achievement points. Can not remember if anything was said about the ps3.

More or less. But after you update for the new store, You have to update for the system. That might contain something unexpected.

I think Changing your PStore would be better. I mean if Users could customize their PStore in anyway or form. That would be 'nailing the bar'.
