There is a chance this game might not be ready until early 2008 !
GT HD, the current downloadable version is really just a demo.
For GT5 Polyphony have promised an uprated driver engine and an unrivalled brilliance of graphics, on 1080P resolution.
Until then, there may or may not be some more downloadble content.
I believe the publishers really want to now spend their time on bringing the full GT5 game out in its full potential glory!
Judging by what we saw of GT HD at the Playstation Store we can expect a very special game indeed.
In my opinion, Im not going to wait for this game, the reason being, I think you that might have to buy stuff to get the full GT experience in this game, like you might just get sucky cars to start with and you could buy like a Lambo Gallardo online, or a short track with nothing special, or you could go online and buy this amazing track with loops, sharp turns and corners, I would really suggest getting Ridge Racer 7, I think it will be the best driving game on the platform for a while
There is a problem , yes, that the publishers will hold back the really good stuff as you say...
Then we will have to pay for it which is certainly unfair.
Still, if they do this then there will be a backlash and a loss of sales.
More likely, they will provide almost everyting up front in the Blu-Ray disk to keep everyone happy and milk some sales thenn spend their time developing extras which will be at an extra cost.
they signed a deal with Ferrari to showcase their cars so I expect themm to be in the first edition...
I think we will have to wait for Colin McRae DiRT, the rally game, before we get a racing game that truly offers real-world like driving dynamics.
The game always required skill to get the right speed round the bends.
Although Rally is a single car timed event I hope there is an online race, like Motorstorm, say for 8 to 12 cars.

I dont really like Ridge Racer 7, but thats my opinion.
I would wait for this game, because it looks amazing, even if you have to buy extra tracks, cars, mods to experience a better game.
Ya, I'm prolly going to get it, just got the demo and it does look amazing, so....IGN said sometime in 2008, thats a long time, If i have enough money left after all the necessities(killzone gta mgs mercenaries GRAW2) I will get it
i know there are ferrari's on the clips of GT5 but will they have any other of the top brands e.g. bugatti, lambo, porche (not RUF) and my favorite the Koenigsegg ccx. it looks amazing this game but i want to know the cars and tuning capability, because for example tuning a bugatti veyron would be impossible so are they going to make it realistic......................
