the 80gb unit was a complete disaster and never got released in the uk, i think its because the 80 was alot more expensive and didnt hold any extra features exepth the bigger hard drive in which you can replace the 60gb with an 80gb for £20 if you know where to look, so i have the 60gb which i got on the uk release date which is now no longer available as only 40gb are on sale here in the uk now but we are getting the mgs special pack which i might look into if mine dies again

I don't think you should loose faith, but be fed up. It could be one of those bad batches that didn't go thru the proper quality control channels at Sony. Wish you luck on your next one.

IM ON 4TH ONE TOO M8 SCINCE THE LAUNCH DATE NOW WARRANTS ONLY VALID FOR 3MONTHS ON MY 4th REPLACEMENT ONE AND SONY SAID IF I DONT GET INSURANCE AFTER 3MONTHS WARRANTS UP IT WILL COST £199 TO GET IT REPAIRED UN-FREKIN REAL AFTER ALL THE SHIT I HAD HAVE WITH MY PS3's

btw i look after my ps3 better than my wife and kid so its not neglect that keeps breaking it lol

no probs, have it from september, and no probs! dunno, but ur probs are a little UNCOMON. i dunno, but maybe u r the unlucky 1. i have had mine from sepember, no probs (or some)

wow that much i would rather spent the extra 100 and get a new one with a full years warranty, i thought the 65 i had to pay for replacement psp was bad enough but 199 is just greedy, i took out the unsurance as i knew there wes ganna be teething problems with the rushed system, im pretty sure if you got home insurance that will cover you ps3, and when it plays up again throw it down the stairs and claim on it lol
