I'm considering getting a small HDTV to play on. But I hate the idea of buying those damn HDMI cords for 80 bucks. If my TV is HDMI compatible, will component AV cables work on it? Those are like 25 bucks. I have like no knowledge on this shit so bear with me.
You should be able to go to walmart and get the component cables for somewhere around 20 dollars. My TV is only 720p and I didn't have a HDMI port though.
All in all, it depends on what kind of tv you get.

Re: HDTV Help
I've done a ton of research on hdmi cables and actually have a forum on this. You can get a HDMI cable from monoprice.com for $6 and its just as good as Monster Cable HDMI. Just make sure you get the category 2 HDMI from monoprice. I have both HDMI cables from Monster and monoprice and there is no difference. Here's a link on the research I've done. Hope this helps. HDMI INFO!

If you posted after the afternoon of June 1st, you're late. I bought it already. And all HDMI cables give the same effect, it's just durability that's expensive, though the 30 dollar one I bought seems really strong.
