PS3 games online tournaments and events with regular competitions and Leaderboards

An analyst has come out and said that sales of the PS3 will overtake those of the Xbox by 2009.

Obviously the 360 had a head start so it sounds about right that it will take a long while to overtake it.

I wonder how long it will take to match its sales rate.
Do you think it will sell in equal number by Xmas ?

Um, I realy feel that the price is just too much for the average Joe.

It will be mainly families looking to buy a console at Xmas and the avergae family is goig to baulk at the High Street prices. They will be standing there and think 'hold on, the xbox has loads of games and is 150 bucks cheaper'.

I think hardcore gamers will buy it wothout doubt as it is the Daddy.
However, it will take a while for the word on the street to go on about how good the playstation3 is adn that its a must have. That could take a while.

I have a feeling the Wii and 360 will stilll beat it in the Xmas sales due to price only, despite being a binafide PC and destroys the others on spec.

The price will have to come down to compete which I expect it to do next summer and then every 6 months from then on. 2009 sounds fairly reasonable given that scenario as price wont be the main factor.
SONY has to make it price competitive to shift games, thats where the money is.
