Hi
This NAT thing??. I have Nat 3 and run direct through a modem.Have heard that there are issues with this but all the talk is regarding router's. I dont seem to have any problems but really dont know may be it would be better. Any suggestions??
If your planning on using the online feature, you don't want to be running on NAT3. The best is NAT 1, then 2 follows it. If your running directly through a modem, I would suggest picking up a router. Linksys is probably the best way to go, that's the type im running on and have had very few problems with it. If you have any other questions I will be happy to help you out.
Thanks I will attempt to change it. I will keep the old modem to start with because i dont have a net work in house , my comp has its own modem... long story .. a friend had a spare and i got sick of unplugging com the plugging in ps3 so now all i do is line into 1 modem then when time to change line into the other.... Ta
Hi Guys.
I attempted to change NAT setting but it went back to Nat3. Has anyone some basic steps i can use. Do i have to re set my modem as it was use 4ps2 and my computer i just change line's when i want to play ps3.ooooh so confused. buy the way i can talk on line to other players
Thats BS. It doesnt work. ive even tried connecting the ps3 directly to the modem bypassing the router completely and it still shows up as nat 3
Thats certainly not bullshit.. the best single and quickest way to enhance your connection is to take the PS3 out of the firewall which is what the DMZ function does.
First you need to know the local IP address of your PS3, you can see this, for sure, by turning on your PS3, going to System Information and reading the IP. Its the last digit/s you want.
Then enter your router onlibne via your PC (often by typing in 192.168.2.1), going to the DMZ section and making sure that you the correct IP address for your PS3 is in there.
Basically, it takes it out of the firewall and will almost certainly make the difference betwen a NAT2 and NAT3 connection.
NAT3 is a problem , a problem for you and makes a problem for others.
