MY PS3 DIED TODAY

just happily playing with friends earlier in a game of cod 4 when boom playstation turned it self off, it will turn back on but only for about 3 seconds when it beeps like mad and the green light turns orange, apperently i was told it has over heated cus its too close to another electrical item, like what????? a bllody speaker and a sub woofer, any way getting a new one in 2 days but unfortunatly i made up my email address for my main user account which like an idiot i didnt write down and forgot, so borrowing my sisters at the moment

the main point of this thread is that i have a few open challenges which i will be unable to organise but will still go ahead (i hope) like i said i have borrowed a ps3 for now but unfortunately my copy of cod4 is trapped inside my ps3 and sony will not be able to get it back to me for at least another month or so, so if you were on my friends list then please re-add me as SLASHLEY AND DELETE THE BIA-BASTERD

sounds kind of familiar...i feel your pain, mine broke the first week, it switched off while i was playing and wouldn't turn on at all, you're lucky you have a spare....i had to send it off (couldn't be replaced cause my cod3 was stuck inside and they wouldn't replace the game) but they were pretty quick, i think it took about 2 weeks, and haven't had a prob. since...(hopefully not for a long time..)

i must be lucky then as i am getting a replacement and they will send my cod4 back as soon as they can get it out the old system, i cannot live without my baby which is why i took a few miles walk last night to go and borrow my sisters, in the hope that my hard drive would work in it but unfortunately it wont unless i format it

oh yeah mom gave me another smack round the head this morning, i told her straight last night just before i went to bed, something about my room being untidy lol i like cloths eveywhere makes it look modern but mom didnt think so lol so she waited till i was alseep and she gave me an almighty slap and cold water over my head, lets just say SMOOTHnHUGE GOT OWNED

Umm, I had a problem, rang SONY who answered immediately and they were going to send a replacement 2 days later and pick mine up!!
As it happens, the PS3 seemed to fix itself and i cancelled the swap but regardless of where or how you bought it, if its a UK machine they should do the same for you and still send you the game back.

This happened to me with my second ps3 in January. I canceled during an update, because it was taking forever, and I wanted to play CoD3. It was fine online and stuff, but next time I turned it on, there was no menu LoL Just user names. I got mine back in 2 days though, so hats off to Sony on that.

much respect to sony i recieved a brand new replacement console just 36hours after i reported the problem i dont think they could possibly have sorted the problem any faster, just a shame there was nothing they could do with all my much loved images on my hard drive as it wouldnt work in another console without formating it. and the boredom won i couldnt wait more than 1 day for my cod 4 to come back so i went into town the next day and purchased another copy lol

Mine went of end of november , blacked out on cod4 and when i turned it back on the disc wouldnt read . Rang sony and they had a brand new console deliverd by 5pm the next day . Really good service center . The first lot of ps3 seem to have had some sort of problems .

yeah, the first few 1000 ps3's that were launched had problems (overheating etc) my freinds was on and it blacked out and shut down beeped and as he wet to switch it on the yelow light of death was flashing which means you ps3 is knacked lol. Thats why i limit my gaming time now then switch it off for a bit incase it over heats i dont know if anyone has noticed but when you leave ps3 on for a while the room heats up like being in a oven just a warning switch it off after a bit becuase it could just burn out especially with the problems that people have had recently. Snake.

lol if i noticed that before i would have turned the central heating off and saved a few quid lol, i suppose something as advanced as the ps3 is bound to have a few teething problems but sony provided an exellent service that i was more than happy with, i took sony´s advice and im keeping it well away from anything that generates any kind of heat, its now in the middle of my floor and is also my new coffee table allthough the cups do wobble a bit on top lol,

yeah my game freezes on NHL 08 a lot. twice on cod 4
