Its terible and sad, I mean Ive never seen anything like it, for us to be treated like piss of *&%$, I am pissed off about it,

In case anyone didnt know. Here are the reasons as stated by SONY:
Europe is logistically complicated. There are so many countries, with so many languages, some are hard to get to, many have different regulatoins and retail rules. It is also a long way from China where the PS3's are made. North Amercia is a tighter unit with only 2 major languages. It is nearer china and there are only 20 distributers for the whole region. Japan again is an easy single market and in closer proximity to China. There you go....

Really disappointed with sony. Been hoping the Europe PS3 launch would be before Christmas in which case I would definite have gotten one. Now that it's only coming next year, I've decided to get a xbox 360 so at least I'll have something over Christmas. And I can't afford 2 consoles... so sony just lost a potential customer here...

I hear ya.
Its incredibly frustrating...  Dont get an xbox ! 8O Well, if you do, I guess you can always sell it. The thing is, the PS3 looks like being SO good you will definately regret it. The other option is to buy one on Ebay. They are about £750 or so and you will need to get a step-down power convertor...

Europe will get it faster than Sony begins to sell it.
I think Europe will get PS3 much more faster than Sony starts to sell it there , and that is the mistake of them because now people want buy the toy for themselves and their kids , and they buy it in internet for much more higher price than in fact and thinking how they can get it before the New Year comes, so a lot of buyers will buy it before official launch , and of course the things that is very hard to get is much more sweeter than simply go to the store and buy it.

The problem is the Chinese factories will surely be concentrating on supplying the shortage in Asia and North America. They may not start producing European specification consoles until January/February.
Even when the launch date comes there will undoubtedly be a shortage no matter what you hear. This will cause another leap in premiums on places such as ebay for those who cannot get hold of one. Personally, there is no way I would wait 5 1/2 months to get it and even then not be sure I would actually get one. I would be happy to pay almost double now to get one really. Of course, people on a tight budget will have to wait and good luck to them.

Yep, I am pretty much convinced that I will have to get one on ebay
:? I cannot wait 5 months and I dont mind spending 50-75% more than March 30th launch price.... There's no arguing with supply and demand unfortunately...

Its already in Europe , everybody who really want it already buy it, or wait EMS or DHL or other transport companies to bring it here , do you know how many PS 3 were sold and selling now to Europe ? Me too .

There are at least 10 people on this board who have had one imported.
There must be a few hundred in the UK alone so if you take into account all the European countries PLUS Australia there are problem low thousands of consoles in the hands of those who wern't meant to get them !! 8O Anyway, let and let live. If they can afford to pay the hefty premium its fine by me and doesnt do any real harm to SONY's image....

There was a rumour that the during SCEE board discussions that a further month dealy to the European launch was a possibility! :(
You'd think they would be too scared to delay it further given the uproar the initial delay caused. But..... as we know, SONY have HUGE production issues and even now PS3 consoles are only trickling into the US, Jpn and HK. They might well decide to make sure the existing markets are satiated before opening up a new market with the same problems all over again.. Worrying...

originally, I heard it was launching on 30th March, then there was the rumor that it will be delayed by a month...
Now, the latest report is the second Friday of March, being 9th March 2007 ! that sounds a lot better for Europeans but I guess until SONY officially anounce it we have to keep on guessing...
