8O :?
Yet again we get ****** up the ****. Quite frankly its bollox. We either get the stuff late or we ahev to pay the same price in STG or Euros as the US pay in dollars even though the exchange rate is massively wide..... UNBELIEVABLE. |
Umm, well...
If I can put a positive spin on it we can hope for a few things by then to make it better...
There you go. Hope that cheers you up a little bit! |

Its a bit of a disgrace really. Complete BS.
Thats 4 - 5 months after Japan and US get it. They can spout lack of supply and problems with a chip but thats BS. They realise theyve buggered up the numbers and Europe was chosen to suffer the consequences.... I wonder how many black market versions are going to make it over to Europe? Thats if Europe can play the different version.... |

DAMN THEM! DAMN THEM ALL TO HEEEEELL!!! I´ve been saving money and put up my Playstation 2 on the market for about 2,5 EURO! THAT SUCKS!

Yeah, there will be a lot of frustrated people in Europe, thats for sure.
If the PS3 proves to be a big hit in the States then the wait will even worse for us Europeans..... Dont suppose SONY are that bothered. They will probably shift a million extra PS2 at bargain prices in Europe anyway.... |
Looks like the import preordering has already started.
There is a new thread on it or links to the right.... 8O |

4 months on a huge new console launch is a bit of a joke!
4 months hearing everybody else going on about it is a bit painful... |
Want another bad news? Can you imagine a Japanese dude sitting right now playing on PS3? If you aren’t patient enough, some companies have auctions for PS3 in which to participate you have to pay 100$, is it worth it?
Well, thats just gambling. I dont doubt someone will try it though as there will be many desperate people out there.
Even in Japan the overall numbers pf PS3s is small. There will be a lot of angry people and there will be a lot of people looking to cash in by selling their PS3 on for a big premium... :( |
Might have to put up with a US or Japanese console....
4 -5 months is a lot of waiting.. |
At least we have time to get some money until it comes out, we dont want any other loosers get it first on the day it hits the shelfs, do we???

Is it possible to preorder a PS3 from USA and play it in Europe??? Has anyone a link to back up their answer?
Thats what I did.... Well, tried to do. I dont expect to get it (i didnt put any money upfront)
Some companies will take preorders and you can choose a Japanese or US version. As far as I know there are no preorders yet for any European models as it so far away. However, when I spoke to them they said you can play any console anywhere BUT you will have to play that regions games. It didnt/doesnt bother me as i will simply order the games from the US and hopefully pick some up from Ebay cheap over time. |

If you have a modern TV and a plug adapter then you could do it.
As mentioned above, I believe the games are region locked so you will have to play US games as well. Any preorder taken out now will probably only get a console in the New Year! http://www.ps3preorder.net have some preorder links. |

Thanks a lot
Than's a lot I think I will preorder one from US and return it if it does not work.. |

So long as its a modern TV not an old portable you should be okay.
The US PS3 will need an NTSC output (UK TVs are PAL). Some TVs cannot handle NTSC colour decoding and you may have to get a converter. You'll have to make sure before you purchase. Alternatively, you can 'chip' the US PS3 so that is plays UK games or connect via an RGB connection. At the end of the day, its not ideal so I wouldnt do it personally. Too many things to go wrong. STOP PRESS SONY have just made importing US and Japanese consoles into Europe illegal... They managed to get an injunction to stop Lik Sang, the largest supplier, from exporting. --- Sony told the BBC, “The law is clear, and grey importing PS2, PSP, or PS3 into the EU without the express permission of SCEE is illegal. Therefore, we'll utilise the full scope of the law to put a stop to any retailers who choose to do this”. Sony's position is that it's just trying to protect the consumer from buying hardware that doesn't play older European software for PlayStation and PS2, and won't play European Blu-ray movies or DVDs. --- Well, there you have it. DONT BOTHER. Unfortunately everyone in Europe will have to wait... |
The word Illegal is fine by me, but as my Aikido instructor always says, with patience comes the prize,
I am sure we will survive 6 months waiting, we have plenty of time to make some money for the games that are coming out for about 60$ lol, and thats not funny. When the PS3 comes out then we PARTY! |
Well, its not just March.... Its the end of March apparently.
30th March... Makesthe wait even longer... |
Thats 5 1/2 months after the JPN/US launch, almost half a year!
Whats going on , is this some kind of twisted joke... How can they expect Europe to have to sit there for 6 months whilst evryone else is playing the machine and going on about how good it is.. Really bad situation.... :smt017 :smt021 :smt062 |
