Re: 320 Gb Hard Drive
I'm not sure if you have noticed Ghost, but I think it cuts down on load times. I'm not sure if it was me being excited about the hard drive or if it really is faster.

I think it loads a little quicker too its a 1.2 GB/s

I think its actualy the speed of the hdd that determines load time. The one you got i assume is 5400 rpm. They sell a 7200 rpm that loads a few seconds faster. Let me find the link where they tested them. brb

Re: 320 Gb Hard Drive
Rakoon, I'm not sure if you are going to put another hard drive into your ps3 but from what I read if you put anything faster than 5400rpm it can cause the ps3 to over heat.

Nah never said i was gonna. Just explaining what determines the load times thats all.
They talk about it in that article of the heating issue.
"One somewhat unexpected discovery was that this speedy 7200 RPM hard drive was no louder (or hotter) than its slower counterpart - an impressive testament to the PS3's sound-dampening design. In other words, there's really no reason not to buy a speedier hard drive for your PS3....that is, unless you're concerned about voiding the warranty."
Idk im not willing to do those tests on my ps3. Just sayin its been done. I dont urge anyone to put a 7200 rpm hdd in their ps3 either.
