PS3 (60GB Version) Memory Stick Duo Problems

Ok....i just got my PS3 a week or so ago, i desided i'll use mym memory stick Duo to trnasfere some data from my PS to my PS3, like Pictures and some music. But when u insert my Memoy Sticks (1 is official sony mem stick and other is a SanDisk) the PS3 wont even pick up their exsistance, the indicator light wonr come on and nothing is desplayed on the PS3 menues. I have tried Formatting the Memory sticks in my PSP and on my PC but still nothing, i can't format them on my PS3 cos it won't pick them up, says nothing is there...
I have not updated my firmware yet tho, its still 1.50, but i would have thought that with it having the card reader built in it would work first off.

Anyone who can help will be geat and i'm also intrested to know if any1 else is having this problem, maybe i should just return my PS3 and get a new 1??

sometimes the memory stick icons show up above the main crossbar XMB, not below where the files are. i know its a longshot, but sometimes that throws me off for a few seconds.

Re: PS3 (60GB Version) Memory Stick Duo Problems

mine has always worked with my 2gb sandisk. Are you putting just the card in or are you putting it in an adapter, cause i use an adapter so its twice as long cause i dont think it will work with out one cause it has to go all the way in
