Playstation Store
what do you think....?
It;s okay, I reckon. Early days, I guess. It has got very little content at the moment but I imagine it wont be long before its full of stuff. There were a few videos, well, snippets of games you can download. I download a video to see how long it took. It wasnt too bad but a game must take ages to download. They looked to be over half a gig !! The video turned up instantly under the Video icon in the main menu of the PS3 and was pretty cool to watch but the game looked like it was really aimed at children, even at $9.99. I have yet to upload my credit card details but I will probably start downloading the playable demos and purchase some of the better games when its starts filling out with stuff.

There is no getting round the size of the files, I suppose.
I guess zipping these sorts of files is not possible, well, it wont make any difference to the size or speed of download anyway. 1/2 a Gig or 1 Gig is a huge file. I suppose its just an overnight job. It wont belong before we are able to download these in less than an hour the way technology is progressing then we can start downloading some good games like pS2 stuff. I wonder if you can download stuff in the backgrond whilst playing a game.... I'll have a look.

 I do hope they start adding a lot more stuff in there. I am always a fan of free stuff !! i have not given my credit card details over as I was unsure about it at the time so I cannot download the cost games yet. At the end of the day, the whole online aspect of the PS3 looks fantastic. And the fact it is for FREE to use it is a masterstroke. Well done, SONY! :)

Well, its coming up for a few weeks since launch and there is still the bare minimum of content on the Store.
There is just two games, a few demos and a couple of videos. There are a few PSP games on there as well but thats no good to me. The demos are 680MB so I havent bothered so far.... 8O

Ah, on second thoughts...
It doesnt look like I will be downloading anything.... Am in the UK but I need a US address and credit card for the wallet.....  Then again its not a bad thing. Think of the money I will save! :)

it seems to have come along quite a bit already...
Of course, adding GT HD was a great move. :) The annoying thing is that whenever you download something the PS3 is taken out of action. That 's pretty poor and very frustrating indeed.

Dan, there is a way round it.... :wink:
I assume you set up a dummy US address. Instead of trying to set up a credit card at the front if you go throught the checkout system you will, in fact, be able to use a UK credit card. I.e. got to the store and select the game you wish to download, eg lemmings. Go through the process and select add funds by credit card. Put your details in and put your dummy US address in there. It will work... you can then use the credit to download your file.
