Web Stream Videos on PS3

The PS3 will allow me to watch some movies like outube and myspace most embeded ones but WMV wont play. Do I need to enable or download something?

Yeah, it seems like a snub at a microsoft format ..

Its not currently supported but will likely be enabled along with some other video file formats on future updates though it's a bit up in the air at the moment. SONY is revamping the whole ting as a super-media center. As such, we would hope that every file format known to man is catered for!

Personally, I have a bit of sofware on my PC that can convert any video file to another format. It might be worth you googling a converter. You might find one for free or cheap and performs the change before placing them on your PS3.

I recall the PSP having a bit of third party software that could run wmv though I may be mistaken.

It is a bit of a shame about these formats as wmv and wma are by far the most common amongst my files.
Hopefully, the support will come a bit later.
