"i love fifa i love football"
then u lot say
"i think u mean soccar" or however u spell it

why do it??? u think its called football for no reson
u use a foot to kick the ball u do not
soc a car that makes no sense its called football
250 years ago u were all living in mud huts we were civilised and now u think u own the world????? and yes we do because we have

Well here in the US, we like to call that soccer.

Whenenver somebody mentions the word football in the US, we don't think about a bunch of players kicking the ball.

I beg to differ. You do use your foot in the real football. Field goals, kickoffs, and punts. Yes it's limited but hey, it's using your foot. He is right when he says it's too complicated to explain though. I wouldn't even know where to start. Haha. All I know is that it's an awesome sport.

First of all, most of the population of America came from Europe, so shut your mouth.

Second, it used to be call Soccer Football, but that's too long. So we shortened it to soccer, because we already had a sport named football. Don't get butthurt because we play more than one sport.

You call lots of things by different names than we do. So don't whine about it. US English and UK English is different, stop crying.

^^^agreed......football americano is the best sport on the planet and a lot more exciting than anything else....and people don't call each other's sisters whores and they don't dive to get ref's calls

No don't get me wrong, I love both sports
But Soccer is my favorite

The reason I call it soccer is this:
Whenever I talk to someone in a different country about soccer, I call it football, so they don't get confused. But they go ahead and ask me 'American Football or Soccer?'
If you're gonna cry because I call it soccer, don't ask me what I'm talking about when I say Football. I call it football and they ask me what sport I'm talking about, I call it soccer and they start crying

This thread is unnecessary. I can agree with some of what Hit Me said, yes we did make football up, we made loads of sports up but that doesnt mean we own it and everyone else has to call it that.
