PS3 CHATTING HELP

HI I AM TRYING TO FIGURE OUT WHAT IS WRONG WITH MY CHAT

SETTINGS EVERY TIME I TRY TO SET UP A CHAT WITH MY FRIEND IT

SAYS CHECK MY NETWORK SETTINGS BECAUSE THE NAT IS SET TO 3.

CAN SOME ONE TELL ME WHAT THIS MEANS, AND HOW TO FIX IT.

Firstly, you have done the 1.54 update yeah?

Until somebody comes along with the specific answer I wold do what I always do...

just fiddle around with the settings with different parameters until it works!

There is only a few combinations of settings so you should stumble upon it.

I FOLLOWED THOSE DIRECTIONS THE UPNP IS AVAILABLE NOW BUT THE NAT IS STILL SHOWING TYPE 3 YOU THINK ITS THE FIREWALL?

most likely.... what type of router do you use????....and is it wireless????? did you update your routers firmware???

if you have DSL you probablly have type 3 and it cant be changed u need a better internet connection

keep setting...and retrying ur connection...it will change

IF you really wanna chat dis might help
nat-1 no router best conn can chat w/ anyone
nat-2 router w/ UPnP enabled good conn can chat with alot of pep
nat-3 router w/ UPnP disabled okay conn can chat w/ most other nat3 all nat1 and some nat-2

if you get pissed unplugg your router and go ethernet from modem to ps3 rerun connectio settings and you will be at nat-1 and be able to talk to anyone

the above works perfect for me with roadrunner cable modem and linksys wireless G router but sometimes i have UPnP enabled and still run at nat-3 so for garunteed fix unplug ur router rerun test and run at nat-1
