Wired connection?

hi, i dont have a wireless or a standard router. I was wondering if i connect the ps3 to the internet using my bradband connection with the adsl modem. I have a network card installed on my pc.

any help will be appreciated,

ok i really dont understand what you are asking. but i think you mean will the ps3 broadcast an internet signal so your pc can pick it up. the answer is no, the ps3 only recieves a wireless signal..it does not broadcast one. get cable internet its so much better

No, not for my pc to pick it up.

I want to know if i can use my bradband connection on my pc for the ps3. So i can browse the internet on the ps3.

I have an ethernet card on the pc, Maybe if i connect the ps3 and pc togther with a crossover cable rj-45 it may help. But i dont know what settings i need to put in the ps3 and pc to it to detect.

give it a try and if that dosn't work just put it directly into the modem cause im not sure if what your talk'n bout will work. I advise just get a router, i got mine for like $35-40 at best buy and its a wireless router to & it works great.

nope, i just have one cable rj-11 and the other is usb to connect to pc

then do an ethernet cable from your dsl modem to the back of your ps3 and i think that should work

from what tanbir said, there is no ethernet port, just the rj11 (phone cable) and a USB port.

best thing to do is pick up a ADSL modem/router unit.
these generally have 4x 10/100 ports, so one for the PC and one for the PS3...and a couple spare for future gadgets ;)

or get a wireless modem/router, and a wireless card for your PC, then your shiney ps3 can operate wirelessly.
