What is so good about COD4?

Ever since it got released most of the members on this forum only talk about it. The site sould be renamed CallofDuty4Multiplayer.

What the hell is so good about it anyway!!

Its a good and fair question!
You hear all these people going on about it and are wondering what the fuss is about!

Personally, I think its easily the best shooting game on the PS3 and as that is my personal favorite genre of game it is therefore my favorite PS3 game.

People can cite this and that about the game but for me it comes downn to 'FEEL'. It just feels right... It gets the element between Arcade and realism perfectly I believe. The guns 'feel' right. The way the screen jogs about I 'feel' I have actually been hit a bit like a rumble pack, it cleverly assaults the senses. The general gameplay is spot on.

It reminds me of when I first played Halo on the original Xbox which at the time was groundbreaking with a really chunky feel to it.
This game moves the genre on.

Sure, it has its flaws, it suffers lag like every other multiplayer game, it has useless lobbies and annoying waits, the shooting is perhaps a little long in the tooth but the good things far outweigh them.

If you're keen on FPS then it is a must have.
It is also a HEAVILY supported game on a global basis with hundreds of clans (remember this is only a PS3 dedicated site and is a 20th the size of ***********) so you will always have a lot of fun with it and will last many months right up until the next best thing comes out...

I am not too convinced that 'clan wise' any game will come out to knock it off its perch for a long time.

Overall I think they have done a great job with Call of Duty 4, as I believe it is a huge improvement from Call of Duty 3. Graphics are better, the maps are very detailed and I feel the game is a lot more realistic.

Of course when a new game comes out, people look for the negitives. For example people have said before some of the flaws include lag, annoying waiting periods, mics cut on and off a lot and not being able to send messages ingame. But really with the game as a whole, it is worth the $60 I spent on it.

The only thing they should have spent a lot more time on is the ability to set up clan games. They really didn't take into consideration most people buy these games to battle eachother. Maybe down the road they will fix these little things but we will have to wait and see.

i wasnt very keen on cod3. is it a lot better? plus being a resistance fanatic, i was dissapointed that u cant set up parties or send in game messages. resistance lobby is supurb
