Definitely gonna be an amazing game.. I probably won't be getting it but
MGS4 will definitely raise the bar of what Next-Gen are suppose to look
like. Xbox 360 will not be able to compete with MGS4 or Killzone...

On another note, to help the sales even more on the PS3's, I believe that
they are re-releasing the 80GB PS3 with the game MGS4 for 499.99... I dont
know what everybody else thinks but I think thats a pretty good deal..
A hell of a lot better game then Motorstorm, the game that the 80GB sold
before it was discontinued..

Yeah, I mean this game, like it or not, will sell a ton of consoles. I heard they spent over a million dollars on the opening scene of the game(with all the CGI, effects, sound recording, paying people to keep it hush, etc.). The game will use all 50 GB of the Blu-Ray disc it will be on. 15 GB alone will be audio. Every single guard will be different in some way. Different hair, voice, height, weapon, clothes, personality. You will actually be able to **** with guards until they shit themselves and run. You will actually have to fight those walking mini-Metal Gears. The battlefield will constantly change. Walls will be knocked down etc. Over 180 weapons & attachment combinations. Good online play. Great graphics. Amazing cutscenes. The ability to play through a second time with different storyline elements(basically like an RPG, make a different decision and get a different plot). I don't see how people say this will suck.

This game will be Playstation's Halo... People will shell out 400 - 500 bones
for the PS3 just for this game. Halo alone sold a good amount of 360's all
by itself and I don't see why MGS4 won't do the same thing or even better.
Correct me if I'm wrong but wouldn't this be the first game that really utilizes
the technology of the Blu-Ray disc...

Either way, this game alone will help the PS3 surpass the 360 and the Wii...
Especially when MGS4 will come with 80GB...

to be honest im not DYING for this game to come out, im looking forward to it but im not bursting with anticipation.

im looking forward to it mainly due to the fact that it will "Make" the ps3 , im sick and tired of hearing "wheres your halo?" from the fanboys of 360!

i have rarely played the MGS series so im looking forward to starting soon!!

Word of advice.
Read the MGS storyline before you try to play. The series literally has like 200 hours of cutscenes that you've missed. I'm pretty sure you can watch the movies on Youtube.
Look the game storylines up in this order.
MGS3(Its a prequel)
MGS1
MGS2

Yeah, its basically one of the greatest movies you'll ever watch. Makes 007 look like a chump. And you get to play the movie.

Oh, and Abe:I see you voted. Have fun playing UT3 instead of great games like MGS4. I heard that online mode where you can't even crouch let alone ADS was awesome. Yeah, Rocket Launcher random firing FTW.

Theres no question about it.
Even if you DONT like MG, theres no denying that this game will absolutely dominate.
The story line so far has created a lot of hype for this game, so even if youve never played MGS or any of the earlier games, youll see this and probably think somethin like,"Oh shit i wana play that"

Killzone will come very close, because they are incorporating about as much data into the blu-ray as MGS4 is (about as much). But the storyline from MGS 2 and 3 had me f*cking glued to my T.V. screen for months back when I played them.

I remember getting the games, and barely wanting to leave my room because they were so awesome. I actually picked up 3 first, and then found myself dying to play 2 and 1, although I still haven't played 1.

The game is going to pwn. I'm not much for third person, but MGS4 is a sure thing that'll be stuck in my playstation for months.

Any idea on how much gameplay it's actually going to have? 30 hours? 40?

WTF. i havent even voted. i didnt even see this thread till(as i am reading it) 09:20 am.GMT time. this is first time i have seen it. honestly i na bare people are going to be like MGS4 quick lets **** off. but i cant change that. to me MGS series is shit. i dont like the game i cant help it. in my view atm ut3 is boring. yh it is rocket launcher and hope for the best. skills come from the other wepons eg- liink gun sniper rifle and the errr. the one that charges up energy and when u let go near a person it kills em? honestly to me KIllzone 2 will be the best game the ps3 has ever sold. and GT5 is better than MGS$ in my opinion. but i cant say that there not even the same genre so.... MGS4 succks. you can all think its good i dont care. not my type of game.
