ok i was wondering if i sould buy this game what i wanna know is it good for clan matches because im a clan leader and i started on cod4. i mainly go for game because of the multiplayer is it good for what i wanna do with it?

First Brush up on Metal Gear History, or play the previous games.

It makes the experience 10x better and it probably my second favorite game of all time (behind FFVII of course)

Your kidding me right? Your basing your opinion on not to buy this game on someones opinion. So at least give it a rent, you got to remember this game is PS3 Multiplayer and of course there going to dismiss it, MGO is not as good as COD or BFBC who specify in their online mode.

Seriously, rent the game or at least try it, I recommended it to a friend who had never touched Metal Gear Solid in his life, and he loved every minute of it.

The online is decent...I think of MGO as an extra to the spectacular single player mode. MGS4 is the best game i've played in a long time. You'll be blown away by the story but non-mgs fans will probably hate the long cutscenes. Rent it first but the online is nothing great.

Yeah maybe its not for you will. Though did you get past the fist act? Its a stealth game so maybe its not your type of game.

Exactly. The only game above it this generation is GTA4 (which is good but not 10/10 material)and Super Mario Galaxy. In my eyes it is the best game of this current gen.

People dont like the online, although Metal Gear is not an online straight up FPS. Its a stealth game, and the fact that they have included MGO (which got updated the other week), is just one reason why MGS is so critically acclaimed.

It's not a game you want to go from COD4 and then to MGO online, it's a very difficult transition and not as fast paced. To all that say that it's all stealth and whatever, the single player may be but the online is fast paced no matter how much you don't want to believe it. Not as fast paced as COD but it's not like everyone is crawling around and hiding like you would think.

Story mode is amazing, first game that I finished in 1 day because I couldn't leave my seat or much less even put my controller down. It's the only game that will make you laugh, want to cry, and the hair will stand up on your neck just playing it.

But definitely brush up on your Metal Gear history first, I've played almost all the games but I still find myself lost.

Havent tried the online mode yet but the single player campagin is the best i have played on ps3, yes people dont like the cut scenes but i enjoyed watching them and seeing the story unfold, the characters are also brilliant making the game better. story was perfect for a metal gear game with a lot of suprises and shocks and also exitement, i have never felt this way about a game before it was just a brilliant single player game.10/10 strong contender for game of the year.

well im in the same situation. i have played ALL of the mgs series but 1 of the resions i love it was because of the bird eye view. the graphics where so bad but you didnt see them because it was bird eye view. but this it 3rd eye view and i have heard that this game is SO bad. im confused. what should i do + im short on money, only have 50 pound so i can't rent. is there any game play videos of online play.

the story on these games is way to confusing

i played the first 1 but never completed it, completed the 2nd one and got a good bit through the 3rd one and i still don't hav a clue wot's goin on. anyone kno a place to get a simplified version of the story?

the download on the psn is crap 2. it's just as complicated as the game itself

You have to play through all the games entirely. You also can't skip any of the cut scenes because they are very important to the story. I think it's a great series--if not the best series I've played...

I would have to agree GTA:IV wasn't THAT great. The graphic almost looked the same. Just little smoother rendering here and there. That was it. Should've gotten a 7.
