Call of Duty 3 - May 2nd 2007 - Wednesday War (21.00 EST) - US/CAN Only
 PS3 Game: Call of Duty 3 Game Type: Battle Location: Rouen Date: Wednesday May 2nd 2007 Start Time (Adjusted): 18.00 PST (6.00PM Los Angeles) 19.00 MST (7.00PM Mountain Time) 20.00 CST (8.00PM Central Time) 21.00 EST (9.00PM New York) Host / Room Names: ici and One other room if necessary How to Join: Sign up below. At the start time, look out for the designated host/s under the criteria mentioned and join the game. You can join either of the hosts if there is more than one. You may join late of course but you may have some catching up to do! How to Play: The rooms will be created at exactly 9.00 PM Eastern Time. Enter the room of your choice. The match is for TWO rounds only: 1st Round - Bazooka Melee Everybody is to choose Bazookas/Panzerschrek ONLY and they can NOT be fired, only used to melee (whack) you opponent to death! Up to 50 points. 2nd Round - The Rouen Run This is a 3 lap race around Rouen! The route is shown in the video HERE. (if it doesn't play for you then right click and Save As..) You must stick to the route and NO shooting or melees! You can choose any class of soldier you wish. As people may start late and others starting early will have a slight advantage the hosters will RESTART the room a couple of minutes after 9.00PM or as soon as the room is full, whichever comes sooner. How to Win: This is just a FUN event. The winners of the rooms are obviously the winner of the Melee and the first one to finish the race! The host will SHOOT the winner of the race as this is the only sure way to work out who that person is!!  So, if you cross the line first please let yourself be killed by the starter who will be standing just past the line.... You've playing for pride.. Feel free to come back to the thread and gloat! Rules: Glitching or cheating of any kind will not be tolerated. You let yourself down and spoil it for others. Guilty parties will be disqualified, banned and reported to Sony! Please report any instances of cheating to a Moderator or Admin. Entry: Sign up using the RSVP form below. Click on 'Maybe' if you are unsure if you can make it. You have to be in it to win it ! Please refer back to this page 30 minutes and 5 minutes before the start in case there are any changes. If you can, please take a picture of the results screen in your match in case the designated host has problems.

The first round is pretty self-explantory...
you will go around just using the Bazooka/Panzerschrek to melle kill your opponent. NO SHOOTING!! The second round is a straight forward race!! After joining the room you will all need to congregate in the grassy courtyard as shown in the video. You should all stand just behind the line between the two fence posts... You can, of course, jostle for position but please try not to cross the line... The Host will be standing in front of you and once you all seem to be there he will start the race. When he crouches down THAT is the signal to GO!! Complete 3 laps to that same line.. The Host will be there looking out for the winner. The route as shown is a whole perimeter of Rouen You HAVE to go through ALL the doorways as shown in the video. You CAN choose to go the other way around the tank, kegs, truck, crates, etc.... This should be a laugh as trying to watch you all squeeze through that first door will be soooooo funny....  The Host will video the race so we can all laugh at it later...  We chose Rouen because its small enough to keep an eye on the route but mainly because it has so many door frames and objects in the way... muhahaha

Brilliant... I've got to see the race video..  Its a bit late for me.. Can you do one for us europeans !?!???!!?!

I'm the host so i can't run the race...
 I want to see a nice clean race!! I will start the race from in front of that gap as admin said. i will let you run past me and count the laps as they go by. We have another person standing on top of the central tower block to make sure there is no shananigans.... I will be in the bazooka basher bit and I'm looking forward to that...

I dont know how many people will play in this but should it rise significantly above 24 then we will need another room and therefore another host. Please PM me to volunteer....
As host you will NOT be able to run the race part as you will need to start it and be there to see the person who crosses the line first... As I mentioned, to work out who crossed the line first the host will shoot you.. Your name will come up then !!

Well, there will no doubt be some blocking going on but all it means is that people who were far behind you will now be right behind you... As for cheating... firstly , this is NOT for Multiplayer Points or a prize so if anybody takes a short cut they will be cheating themselves... Anyway, there is a second player organised by us who will be standing on the tower in the middle so they can spot anybody running through there and theyve got orders to shoot! plus the whole group will be so close it will ridiculously easy to spot somebody who veers off past the tower.. There is no other short cuts really.. You've got to go through the 2 doors at the tank end and the two doors at the sandbag end... The route on the video is the only way to do it.. The biggest worry in this event is non-members joining and shooting you!! I can just see their faces as they stand by the tank wondering where the 23 other players have gone when suddenly this massive bunch of soldiers storm past him...

That reminds me...
Should non-members (who clearly wont know the rules) do enter and start shooting you IN EITHER GAME then thats just tough titty.... Its the same for everyone. If it happens to be you that gets shot then thats the way it goes. If it happens in the melee game then you just have to carry on after youve respawned.. If it happens in the running race then your race is over and any deaths that appear on the screen during the race will assume to be voided. Under no circumstances should anybody shoot their weapon in EITHER games.. No matter what. All deaths appear on the screen and all killers using a gun will be clear to all and their result will not count... Obviously, this whole thing is full of holes BUT it should still be FUn which is the whole point. If it goes well and people enjoy it then it will continue on a weekly basis with different fun events mingled with a more serious battle mode perhaps with different guns and maps.

im going to laugh when just about everybody is ready to start, and some poor guy who knows nothing about it finds 23 light assault soldiers standing in a group and slaughters them all!

Actually geting in front and staying in front is possile but, as you say, being in the middle of the pack will definately be more fun..

ok, I will be starting the game at exactly 9.00PM !
Remember: First game is Bazookas ONLY and Melee only - NO SHOOTING Up to 5o kills.. Second game, as per the video.. Meet at the starting point for the 3 lap race !! Once youre all by the line.. look out for.. I will standing in front of you and when I crouch down and shoot in the air its GO!! Again this is no shooting AND no melees either, just a race... Both at Rouen... I will make this a 16 player room to keep it tight... We are bound to get drop outs anyway.... So get in early..
