Question using 2 ps3's for multiplayer

I have two ps3's both of which are online and in the same house. I want to be able to play Uncharted 2 against a friend using these two machines but with just one player on each ie two persons only (me and my friend) on any given map. Is this possible and if so how to set it up please? How do I get the two machines to "see" each other? I guess I will have to buy a second copy of UC2 but that's ok - just don't want to go ahead then find I've wasted money. I see this as an effective training mode for full multiplayer as I badly need it

Thanks for help

I'm not sure how the MultiPlayer works on Uncharted 2 but as long as you can set-up private games then you should both be able to play. Like you said you will have to buy a second copy and the users will have to have different sign-in's other than that you should be good to go. I have a friend who has 2 PS3's and they both play MW2 at the same time in the same rooms just running on the one router. Hope this helps.

Question Re: using 2 ps3's for multiplayer

Thanks for help SmileyBob. UC2 allows "Custom Game" setup where you invite someone to play but the list of possible guests comes from people you have already met/played with in full multiplayer mode and I don't know how to control that so as my second machine user appears on the list and I can then invite him to a private game. I guess this might be so obvious to someone who isn't new to multiplayer but I'm struggling so any further advice from anyone would be great.
Cheers

Re: using 2 ps3's for multiplayer

So you can't invite people from your friends list into a "custom game"?? If not could you not just invite them into a proper multiplayer game then go into the custom game option? failing that you could buy me a copy of Uncharted 2 and I'll figure it out for you ;o)

Re: using 2 ps3's for multiplayer

Ha ha ... no problem ... one enough for you?

Yeah what you suggest makes sense but the problem is getting number 2 machine user id on to friends list. There are several thou players online and the choice of who you meet in any given game is allocated centrally so it could be a long time before that allocation happens to be the right person. Or is there a simple way of achieving that?

Re: using 2 ps3's for multiplayer

I used to have 2 ps3's and used to race a friend on MotorStorm, all I did was create an online user ID for the one upstairs and added it as a friend on the one downstairs. I take it that you've done this tho. All I can suggest is that you drop Naughty Dog or Sony an email asking them for the solution, I'm 100% sure that it is poss to do what you want it's just that I'm unfimiliar with the game let alone the multiplayer side of things. Good luck dude. Oh yeh, 1 copy will be enough as I sold the other PS3
