We are expecting COD4 to be Huge with a capital H.
It will likely attract all the old Resistance Fall of Man clans and obviously, the COD3 clans plus a load from Rainbow 6.
It could quite possibly be twice as big as any PS3 game before it.
The COD4 League will start afresh so ALL clans start with Zero Points.
Now, we will have the usual 2 or 3 weekly live events to get your teeth into plus we will be setting up a League or Ladder on the PS3Leaderboard site.
We are currently investigating a new Program which will be fully automated and will make reporting fake wins impossible.
Hopefully, the resulting league will be as succesful as the COD3 one before it yet will remain manageable.
We dont want you to get lost in the huge number of clans that you'd expect to see at ***********. We'd expect to cater for about 100 clans or so to keep it more like the close knit community yoy have been enjoying.
To spice things up and as a general move to ramp the PS3Leaderboard site up we will be offering continous Clan prizes throughout the course of the COD4 season.
These will include but not be limited to:
First clan to play 5 matches
First clan to win 5 matches
First clan to play 10 matches
First clan to win 10 matches in a row
First clan to win 5 matches against top seeded clans
Most sporting clan of the month
Top performing clan of the month
Top performing clan of the quarter
Podium finishers at the end of the Season

Sounds great! I only hope the new program might monitor inactive clans and boot them from the ladder after a certain time.
Yeah, the current program does that automatically with the ladder system but I didnt like the ladder system and went with my own League creation instead.
The main problem with the ladder system was that after a challenge was made and the match played the onus was on the losing clan to report the loss first to which the winning clan then confirms.
The problem being we all know how a lot of clans do not like reporting in a loss! Think it was a flaw in the program.
I'd still rather have some sort of League system but I might have to go with a Ladder system if it turns out to be the easiet to operate from an Admin viewpoint and from a user viewpoint.

If you are planning only around say 100 clans, I'd suggest a 4 division league with a playoff system after say 50 clan battles. Then a round-robin tournament where all clans that want a chance to be the top dog get a shot at the crown.

If you are planning only around say 100 clans, I'd suggest a 4 division league with a playoff system after say 50 clan battles. Then a round-robin tournament where all clans that want a chance to be the top dog get a shot at the crown.
i certainly considered this when I was thought I was going to use the current, time consuming manual system.
However, I doubt there is any system on the market than can do this and everything else needed. There are some League scripts out there but they are pretty awful looking.
Still, I might have a look at it as it is still one of the things I would love to do.
After all, the lower clans will not be motivated or feel they have a chance to top the overall league but they will have aspirations to get to the top of 'their' league.

I like the ladder and how that is set up, but i would like to see more tournaments like the one that 1tf1 and Delta Force (CTF) won before I started playing. The League/ladder is fun, but a tournment is always funner.
if it was the manual system, i would report all of my losses, i mean, seriously, its only a game, im here to have fun, make friends, its not serious untilt heres money involed hahaha =D but now actually ive decided to get a x box 360 and i might, and theres a good chance i will, get a ps3 next summer when i get a job. if i dont want to waste the money, then i wont get it. but this these programs confuse me. unless u can get data from the games leaderboards without anybody have to take a picture or reporting a loss or win, then that would be good and u would only have to go manual with points there on. But other than that, i dont know how u could get it to really work so that people can be honest and stuff.
we should make divions like the nfl has nfc and afc. we should also have COTY(clan of the year)
Ya but with divisions like you speak of, how long do you wait until you have the playoffs and decide the Champion? Once a month sounds good, then at the same date of every month take the "x" number of clans from each division (EXCLUDING the current Champion) and have them play in a playoff and winner of that plays the current Champion?
That sounds fun and interesting, but you'd have to make the divisions fair, like seed all the clans and make sure you have all the division even...
and a mvp award??? lol thatd be fun also if we do divisions take the best from each divsion like an all star game that we wanted to have but never worked out
