You or your friend have to be a host, that way one of you can send the other a game invitation. Create a private session to do that.

The only way you and a friend can play a ranked game is if you get lucky and end up in the same room. You can't send invites to ranked games

Yeah they do it so that you can't invite your friends fake profile and they lose on purpose to get you free points. That's my guess

just make a private match with you and your buddy then whoever is the host opens it to the public then its ranked
