Socom: Confrontation Report

To those die hard Socom fans, there is questions and answers about the game all at IGN.com. Also feel free to talk about things you hope to see and hope not to see in Confrontation.

I for one am I excited to hear about the fact that players will be able to access the rooftops. I really do hope that they allow people to go on most of the roofs (if not all of them) instead having only two or three accessible. Being a sniper, this is something that I am looking forward to.

New weapons would be nice as well. I do not want to see the exact same weapon layout that Socom 2 and 3 had offered.

And to the moderators, if it is possible, why don't we get a Socom: Confrontation section?

I am a huge fan of socom. Partly because it was the first shooter i played. Socom is a game like cod3. Either your good or you not. You have a good point about the roofs. If there is only one or two you have to worry about, it makes going on the roof almost pointless. I hope they leave "Jump Sniping" in because i think it was really fun but ever since they did the patch on Socom CA you can't do it. Socom is the best shooting game IMO. I'm getting it for sure and even started a clan already on the gb ladder. If anyone is interested in joining please private message me.

Well I sold COD4 yesterday on ebay for $45. I had plans of getting Battlefield Bad Company, but decided that I have too many games already that I don't play enough so I am saving my money and buying SOCOM when it comes out. The gameplay trailers look sweet and everyone keeps telling me that I will sell all my other shooters for this game. I hope it lives up to the hype.

I heard rumours that EU aren't getting socom . is this true?

A2. Yes, “SOCOM: Confrontation” is a global game and you will be able to play any region you choose, including Asia.

I'm pretty sure that the fans over in Europe are recieving the game as well.

Sorry for the double post but some odd reason my edit does not want to cooperate right now.

But for those who are curious or thinking into buying this game, since I last posted the report there has been a number of features that have been released to the public. I will tell what I think is the most interesting but to check out what we know Socom will hold, go to Socom.com

For starters, Socom: U.S. Navy Seals Confrontation will be giving their fans a number of customizations. Including weapons, body armor, and "specific character touches". You have the ability to choose what camo you like/will go best in the environment you play in. Whether it's urban, desert, or night. The type of camo patterns Slant Six has given us so far are Woodland, Flecktarn, Marpat, Acupat, Three Color, Black, Olive Drab Green, Grey, White, and a variety of team-specific camos. They can be used to camouflage your shirt and pants, armor, and straps individually. While you can mix and match camo patterns, I can't say that I'd suggest it. Even then, you can come up with some interesting combos.

Along with the camouflage, there is also different types of headgear gamers can choose from. I'm not going to get into detail but one of the head-gears (boonie hat) allows the player to add vegetation decreasing their chance of being spotted.
