Tony Hawk's Project 8
I always played this series of skating games on the Xbox and they were really addictive. Its the kinds game where you can just muck around pulling off tricks, take part against your friends or complete mini-missions which were really quite challenging..
It looks like more of the same for Project 8.
I cant wait...

Sounds like it has a new trick control interface which could be tricky at first but hopefully it will prove to be a great addition.

Ah yes... Its a must have for me...
I loved skating the different locations like harbors, rooftops, etc and trying to complete the tasks. Some of them were seriously difficult but it all added to a game that lasted longer than others.
The music was always brilliant as wel and bang up to date.

Oh yes!
I loved the 4th one in the series when you had to complete a set amount of tasks before you could move on to the next setting. I remember the harbour setting with the Great White shark which leaps up the jetty...
Spent hours playing that game..... :)
It will absolutely be on my wish list...

Sweet. One of the most 'playable' games I have ever come accross.
I've had many consoles and PC games and the ones I always stuck with as a pick up and play thing were:
Tony Hawks ******
Colin Macrae Raly
Wipeout
Halo 1&2
Crash Bandicoot

Top Banana... :)
I have a preference for shooting and racing games but this is the next thing I will go for. Its also a favorite for my kid, he loved it on the Xbox.
At some point though I will have to draw a line. At the moment I am so excited by so many games that I will have to remortgage the house to afford them.... 8O

There should be some online areas where skaters can meet, like in a big park, and have shoot-outs trying to get the most points for the best tricks and things.
Hopefully there will online skate-off tournaments and Leaderboards.
I imagin they will have their own storefront where you can buy new clothes, music and stuff.
The thing about this onine business is that many of the publishers are still thinking or working on it so nothing is yet set in concrete. Most are still working out how best to do their online bits.
BY the end of next year, all the games should have some online content. Some of it will be small and some of it wull be huge and wonderful.

Top, top game... :smt023
Its definately one of those games you just keep coming back to as it SO challenging especialy on the higher levels.
Trying to pull off the trick combos in the big parks was always difficult.
I never did finish a lot of the tasks on each level and I dont recall actually finishing the whole game. It was just to hard I was getting too frustrated and throwing the effin controller on the floor ! :smt021 :flak: :smt100
Still, excellent game... :)

yep, great game.
One of those games you can grab and have fun without worrying about completing a 2 hour mission before dying.
A really brilliant game to play against your friends online...

Anybody got this yet ?
As far as I know its the only game available that actually uses the Motion Sensor....
Agh, thinking about it, you do use the MS on Resistance Fall of Man when you need to shake those slow baddies off....
Actually, now my brain's engaged I recall my Ridge Racer 7 game has the facility by changing gear by nodding he controlller. I havent tried it as it sounds too fiddly.
Anyway, , back to my original question. Anybody got Tony Hawk P8?

Got it now.... treate myself...
Great game, AWESOME graphics and the smoothness of the controls is fantastic. It 'feels' so right..
The Career mode, well, struggling so far. Its pretty dificult to get anywhere near the PRO scores...
I guess it just takes practice!
Loving it.

Ha. Yeah, is rather difficult.
The series always was a challenge to complete, thats what gave it so much longevity.
I always enjoy just skating around anyway. It gives one a real sense of freedom.
I am just getting to grips with the Nail the Trick slow motion thingy with the seperate foot controls. I love the 360 spin you can do on water hydrants and the like.
The layouts seem excellent. the graphics are ust about the chunkiest I have seen yet on any console, ever.
Oh, and the music is dead cool...

Top game.
2 player split mode is cool, especially on horizontal split. The game modes are cool, trying to score the most points in a certain time, trying to reach a set score first, first to pull combos... excellent.
Online is wicked.
The scenery is unbelievable. Such a good looking and FUN game..
