I'm on my macbook now so I will give you some useful information about them as like you said you don't know very much about them. Let me first say there is not a better computer I have used than my Macbook. Hands down it is the fastest computer I have ever used and it's a laptop! You will not believe how quiet it is until you have one, you can download 10 programs at once and it will not make a noice.
Another thing that Mac has on Windows is there's absolutely no viruses, that in itself is amazing. For the internet you use a program called Safari, it's kind of like Firefox if you have used that before, but it is a whole lot better. All Macs have Safari and everything built in so when determining what Mac your going to buy, all of them have the same features. Also with music, iTunes already is downloaded onto the computer so setting up your music library is a piece of cake. This is the exact laptop i have:
I suggest that one if your new with Mac's, it has a nice 2.4 GH which is perfect and it also set's up for bluetooth devices. Not bad for $1,300 because you know that a Mac will last for a long time. And if your use to Windows and don't want to give it up, Mac allows you to buy Windows programs and you can install them right into your computer for I think somewhere in the $150 range. Also once you get your Mac theirs no install set up or any of that crap, you just turn it on, register it to your name and your good to go.
If you have any questions about anything else with them id be glad to help you out.

I don't know anything about Logic Pro 8, but I do know that my Mac came with Garageband. Which is a pretty fun program, you can record whatever instrument you are playing and it will play back on Garageband and you can then add in some effects to your music. The program already has sounds that can be used to create your own song as well.
This is what is in my dock:
Photobooth: There is a built in camera where you can take pictures of you and your friends with many picture effects
iMovie HD: You can record your very own video through the built in camera or edit movies that are recorded on your video camera
iPhoto: A simple program where you can edit your photos
iTunes: Came with the Mac and is a program to play your music and videos
iChat: Like a webcam, you can talk to your friends capable of receiving video through this program (I do it all the time with my friends on aim)
Safari: Just another internet program
Dashboard: There are these things called widgets which you can download for free on the Mac site that can do many things. You can listen to music, play a puzzle, look at the weather and watch a youtube video all at the same time.
I've had my Mac for almost a year and I'm still loving it.
Just a reminder, if you're planning on using Photoshop on the Mac then you are going to have to buy it. In other words, if you used Limewire before to get the Adobe programs, you won't be able to do the same for the Mac.
I got the photoshop set up file thing on this PC now, with serial code etc. wont I be able to just put it on there through a memory stick or w/e then install it?
Thanks for the info, Im going to have a look tomorrow or Sunday & probably get one.

For movie making and footage editing I suggest Final Cut Pro. It's a ****ing awesome program that we used on our mac's in TV production when I was in highschool.
In order to get Photoshop that is originally on your PC and you want to transfer it to your Mac than your going to have to call Adobe and ask for a new serial I believe.
