Lets help bring forum to life again

Guys, just a few thoughts i think would liven up our community again and help threads to become more active again.. give me your thoughts please and if possitive maybe we can get some ideas over to admin..

For starters, i 100% believe including a 'Matches' sub topic say under Call of Duty 4 would be a great hit for clan members. this has been done on consolegaming, i don't know if you've all heard of it but the livelyness in there is fantastic.

Basically, after every clan battle played on ps3leaderboard the leader that challenged the opposing team makes a thread with the title of their team for example, (UTM) vs (1TF1). in here the leader should provide the results of the match that includes a brief or detailed match report allowing members to read what happened in the match so they can keep in the 'know' and also provide some juicy 'goss'! you may also feel the need to post unlucky, or well played NwO or something..

You can also provide match pictures of the scores to see who the MVP was, this would encourage members to perhaps give it more than they usually would to prove to people that they are actually a great player and do well (brag!)

Take a look on consolegaming and find the 'matches' threads and you can decide for yourselves if you think you would like to welcome this in our forums...

Also, i believe other thread subjects could include 'Football' (soccer) 'American football' 'Computer talk' or something along those lines in order to have something for everyone to comment on..

Yes, these are little things however, i believe these may bring it a large number of new members that can see for themselves how active we really are...

Great idea Cuz m8 and agree with all the things you said, this place needs to be more active.

Though the forum is in need of a complete revamp. For example the Medals on the side of the site, any need for them? They have been outdated for months, and the logos on the top of the site? Are they needed, well no seeing as an new multiplayer game is coming out every month and it will save you alot of time updating it every time an new game comes out.

There are tons more thing this forum needs to be honest.

Also what is the need in the clan forums? Seriously just keep it all in one forum. Keep it like this Clan Discussion: Clan Recruitment, General Clan Discussion and Clan Matches.

We need to think of some small things for now that don't consist of a lot of effort, however massivley benificial.

Although it wont take long to have a revamp. Simply remove some of the codes from some of the footers. Like News Archives on the left hand side, why do we care about OLD news?

A skin would be easy to get. I think we should go with a lightish theme with a banner made by a good graphics member. Preferably made by one of our GFX staff.

I just read the match report, it was quite interesting but if I was playing then everyone would find out how crap I was and Id lose all credibility.

Actually, If I remember rightly Adrian did say somewhere that PS3M will get a revamp. However, It was about 4th on a list of things to do.

The 'matches' idea sounds great. It could make everyone closer, which would then be like the old COD3 days and most of the veterans would love that.

Walshey, great ideas! There are well too many sub-forums around. If we just cut them down to what walshey said that would be good.

Haha, why thankyou! no lol im just getting a bit fed up with clicking New Posts, and 1 or 2 if im lucky have had replies or something. Cg has so much activity its always interesting, but one problem - a large majority of there members are absolute nabs. I just wish our forums would wake up and start getting a bit more exiting like they used to be

If you seperate the europeans from the americans surely it would become even less active, Sundance and I like a good argument for example I shall see if I can find some good ideas from other sites and rally up some more members by spreading the word. I would expect a purple heart medal though.

My ideas for the site:

Have a general discussion section, this would boost activity as people normally just love to spam the forum, this would give people the chance to talk about everything and anything. This section would include:

• Non PS3 Talk
• Sports Section
• Creativity
• Entertainment
• Etc

Have a section for each popular game, in this section people would talk about the games and their opinions on things. Talk about kill streaks on COD, medals won etc. Also a part about future releases so we can find out who is getting what and if they rate the game.

• Call of Duty 4
• Call of Duty 3
• Haze
• Battlefield
• Future releases
• Videos
• Etc

Another section for clans. This could be split up into EU and USA or could just be kept together. This would include:

• Match report section (Talk about matches that have been played)
• Clan recruiting. (Clans advertising for members, or someone saying they want to join a clan)
• Match finder (people putting in challenges for matches, could boost the activity on PS3L)

The site is a PS3 forum, so it should mainy be focused on the PS3, this is why there should be more things dedicated to the game. Along with the other factors in different sections.

Maybe have like a proper profile page, a bit like the PS3L ones. I don't know how much work that would be though to do that.

Anyway, I think what Jewell said should be a priority. Even though we kinda have that atm, but it just needs re-shuffling and what not and maybe wipe all of the exsisting threads off those forums.

See this is the PS3 Media Network bar at the top of the screen. Seriously I go on PS3Multiplayer, Ps3 LeaderBoards and PS3 News and that about it, I dont think I've touched the other one and I think its inactive. If you want a video hosting site maybe you can do something like the MLG gameroom, although you will need some serious development, and I will try and help if you want me to Adrian :).



Again, what is the point in this? It is just using extra bandwith on the forums. In my opinion just get rid of it. Seriously there is just no point, new games come out every month and it will just be an pointless job just updating it all the time.

Also the banner at the top of the screen can you get someone on the GFX staff to do a simple elegent banner and the top. Maybe with a sort of a slogan as well. Just have something like the PS3M logo at the Top with a white-grey sort of background, next to the logo you can have PS3 Multiplayer and under it a slogan like The Only Place for your PS3 Online needs. Something along those lines though.

Then we can touch on this around the sides. Maybe you can get rid of the news archives, we dont really care about old news to be honest, also the medal table should just be scrapped but not the medal system, thats an nice feature. The date/month calender at the side, I know the date thank you. Seriously making your forum long makes it a hassel to scroll down all the time. Also the Online Challengers at the side maybe you could keep it? Although try and update your graphics :P

And also PS3 Leaderboards being advertised everywhere on the forum? Maybe you can just link it at the top but maybe something a bit smaller? Also the news at the side? Every thought about removing one of the event collumn and putting the news there? Just an idea though.

Now to touch on the forums. In my opinion you should do some of the ideas suggested by Jewell. Maybe have it in this structure.

Upcoming Events and Competitions. (Maybe a Sub forum for 1V1s)
Introduce Yourself! (Speaks for itself really.)
