PS3 games online tournaments and events with regular competitions and Leaderboards

The new Virtua Fighter 5 will be created for the ps3 only. The creators are looking to bring the arcade style back to the console

I dont think it'll fly off the shelves. The only good aspect of this game will be online play or multiplayer. Thoughts?

I agree. It will be agood multiplayer game, but I'm not interested in doing a single player game developing a character. There are better games for me to waste my time on.

Awesome :D I love the Virtua Fighter. Is there going to be anything new, or different about this one, then the last ones? They should do something like how in Soul Caliber you can make your own person and things. I love that.

I imagine they could even improve on the graphics but I would prefer a retro feel to it.

I reckon 'gameplay' and 'feel' are the priorities with games like these.

Yeah, maybe games like this can get too flash for their own good.

It needs to be challenging but no too over complicated. Some version with dozens of moves were so daunting to comprehend I never really got into them and sold the game on.

Its the kinda game I wanns pick up when I'm stressed, bust a few moves, kick some arse then walk away!

Agreed. More ARCADE and less SIMULATION is the way to go

I imagine it will be one of the best fighting games out there. With the price of the PS3 games and the fact that you may NOT be able to buy second hand ones or borrow from friends means that you have to be REALLY sure before you make any purchase....

Yep. It will come down to choice as well. VF will have a few rivals, especially in Tekken 6 and the graphically rich Heavenly Sword (looks great.)

They all have different release dates so the first on the shelf might be the one that rules the roost...

Heavenly Sword is probably the best looking of the lot...

Will be difficult. there will end up being half a dozen worthy fighting games.
I will try and limit myself to two.....

I think there is room for two fighting games in my collection but I would have to look at Tekken 6 and Marvel Ultimate Alliance as well.

There is supposto be two new characters in the game along with amazing multiplayer, ahhhhh ill buy it, already have it pre-ordered for 5 DOLLARS OFF AT GAMESTOP LOL

and also THIS IS NOT A PS3 EXCLUSIVE IT WILL BE RELEASED FOR 360 SOMTIME IN WINTER OF 07, so at least we get it a couple of months before them

I think the important thing here is that it has a realistic multiplayer mode.

It has to be fair, it has to be intuituve and it has to be smooth.

if they bugger it up like what happened with Fight Night then it will be unplayable. If some noob can just do a lucky flying kick and kill you then it will be very frustrating.
