VF5....
The game itself is a very well-made and polished fighting game. Its certainly fun beating up on the CPUs.....until you figure out that that's all you're going to be doing (unless you play with friends alot...and i mean ALOT) seeing as there is, unfortunately, no online play. Sega's "excuse" was that since a very "timing-based" game, online would ruin the experience with lag and other such things. I truly believe that thats a load of crap, and other games involving "timing" (i.e. DOA 4 for the 360) have online functionality, and are lots of fun online, even when there is lag. However, that is not to say that VF5 is a bad game. The learning curve on this game, i'd say....is about 1-2 hours, depending on how good if a player you are. You will have to get used to the character you are, and how he fights, as well as get the timing down for the attacks you perform, AND also know what attacks to do. This takes alot of memorization, and up till now I have only managed to fight very well with 3 characters: Kage Maru, Jacky Bryant, and Lion Rafale. Despite all this, it is probably one of the best looking, best playing fighting games you will play in a long while. While Arcade mode is like any other fighting game, Quest mode is pretty fun. You get to battle it out in other "arcades" and gain experience to rank up. You also can win gold, clothing apparel, and these orbs that, when collected (7 total) give you special clothing apparel. All in all, i'd give this game a 9.2/10. Despite the fact that it lacks online functionality, its a very well-polished fighter with a very good control scheme. And that's all you can really ask for in a fighting game.
